 6 minutes  Introduce topic ( this may have been done in the classroom)

Recap Health and Safety guidelines for IT room.

Pupils to 'log on' and find beginning of lesson - http://www.historyonthenet.com/Lessons/attackdefendcastle/attackdefendmain.htm or www.historyonthenet.com click on 'Resources', click on 'Online Lessons', 'Attacking and Defending a Castle'.

Remind pupils to read instructions carefully and to ask for help if they do not understand.

 3 minutes Pupils to read motte and bailey castle explanation page. 
 4 minutes Click around the picture of the motte and bailey castle to find its defensive features. These can then be entered into the worksheet provided. The worksheet can be accessed from the main page.
 6 minutes Pupils have to decide which method of attack to use. Encourage to click on all options to discover the advantages and disadvantages of each method of attack. These can be entered into the worksheet.
3 minutes Read stone keep castles explanation page
4 minutes Click around the picture of the stone keep castle to find its defensive features. These can then be entered into the worksheet.
5 minutes Pupils have to decide which method of attack to use. Encourage to click on all options to discover the advantages and disadvantages of each method of attack. These can be entered into the worksheet.
3 minutes Read concentric castles explanation page
 4 minutes Click around the picture of the concentric castle to find its defensive features. These can then be entered into the worksheet.
 5 minutes Pupils have to decide which method of attack to use. Encourage to click on all options to discover the advantages and disadvantages of each method of attack. These can be entered into the worksheet.
 3 minutes Watch the end of the story
 5 minutes Pupils to log off and leave the room clean and tidy
